Allow admin to post some html code or javascript onto the right sidebar.
I'm wondering how hard it would be to write a component that would
allow us to insert HTML on the sidebars (left or right). It
could be useful for posting site news messages or widgets. Would it be
too difficult to do something like that?
Using this component you'll get idea about:
Changes:
V 5.1
Fixed the mobile issue , thanks to Michael for fixing it.
V 5.0
Allow JS/CSS tags
V 4.3
A configurable option has been added to display the sidebar content on top of the newsfeed on mobile devices
V 4.2
Comes with a WYSIWYG editor now to allow more comfortable editing.
Of course you may still add your own plain html and/or javascript by choosing "Tools -> Source Code" from the editor menu top right like:
thanks for fixing! :)
tested it with awesome theme on mobile phone, it doesn't show anything - I also enabled the function "Center right column on smartphones" but it does not work
on PC it is working:
But on mobile phone:
cancel previous post, i restored the component from back up, all working fine now
im getting the following error show up with the html side bar editor
You are right, Odhed.
Unfortunately, the editor which comes bundled with Ossn 5.2 is refusing the complete set of html tags to be used. That's why your spans got removed.
This issue will be fixed with the upcoming release of Ossn 5.3. Meanwhile try to use divs instead.
Hi .. thank you for this great components .. its very useful when viewing the website using mobile device .. the right sidebar can move on top of the news feed section.. but i got error when adding my shoutcast status .. using span code .. the components auto delete the code .. why is that?
fyi: I also use sidebar search components .. and adding shoutcast status html code above the search field and it works perfect .. but the trouble is when I use mobile .. those sidebar is disappear..
Ah, nevermind, I just saw that you need to enter html markup in the "source code" section for the newest version of this component, disregard my note about v4.2 not working correctly under Ossn 5.0.
v4.2 of this component does not seem to work with Ossn 5.0 (the version on the VM image, with the Textarea component enabled). Rather than displaying html, it displays the markup. I haven't tried v4.1, but v4.0 works fine and as expected in Ossn 5.0.
Great! Thank you very much!
I love this Component !!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!
