HTML on sidebar not working with version 3.7

Curt Guldenschuh Posted in Component Development 9 years ago

Since upgrading to the version 3.7 I've noticed that the HTML on sidebar is not displaying code set up in an IFRAME now. Is there something I should check? Thanks.

@Curt
have a look at

Let me just do my work. Curt started a new thread I was trying to investigate. That's why I was asking some questions.

Like I said a few minutes ago, on my web site once I change the "http" to "https" in the IFRAME code the scroller properly displayed. I didn't have to do that on my localhost though.

Right...it's a self-signed certificate and you will see that message unless you accept the risks and perils of entering the website or add the url to your browser's trusted sites. Once you've done either you shouldn't see the warning again.

The odd thing is that even though localhost and web host are both set up with SSL is it possible that the reason for display on one and not the other has to do with the type of SSL? My localhost is running an Apache stack on Linux Mint 17.2 64-bit Ubuntu base with the SSL certificate installed via terminal. I believe my web host is running the Apache stack on a Debian base. I'm not sure about the technicalities of the SSL certificate there.

As a side note my websites as well as my localhost are set up with SSL.

You triggered a result. I went back to the code for the IFRAME and changed the "http" to "https" and it caused the IFRAME to properly display. Thanks for the nudge!

Same version of OSSN on localhost as website. IFRAME works on localhost but not on web.
localhost

on web

Sorry, can't follow.
Could you provide an url and screenshot, please?
(my first idea is a http/https issue, because you're mentioning localhost)

That's what I don't understand. It is an IFRAME block...the ticker from Planet-Source-Code. I have ver 3.7 on my localhost as well as 2 websites. The basic HTML is working on all 3 however IFRAME is only working on my localhost and not the 2 websites.
