Sidebar and background image for Social 1.1

With the Social 1.1 theme, the latest site activity is displayed on the login page. How can I turn that off? Also, it removes the background image on the main and login pages. How can I change that back?

Due to the many requests in the past for additonal features and components we have decided to develope a premium version. Features like Hashtags, Videos, Polls, Events, Stories, Link Preview, etc included in it.
