I have recently taken a look at ossn and so far so good, looks great just a few requests.
When in a group, posting a status it does not go and post to the site newsfeed. It would be great if in the future group status and activity could show up on the main newsfeed too.
Better themes, more to choose from. I know prem has theme colors, can't do prem version.
hashtags and @mentions would still be a great option.
the abiliity to upload files in a files section, stickers, and so on in status.
Flashing tab when chat buddies are chatting with you like facebook.
Maybe already has this but not seen it yet.
Intergration with comet chat bar or skysa bar to have single sign on to video chat with friends. (or hipchat, bluejeans, telegram or whatsapp, kik etc.) or Iflychat too.
Notes sectional even tho blogs component serves this well enough.
members can add their own ad's and send payment to admin in a module.
Link preview when someone adds links to a status post they can view the link like facebook shows.
Videos page component for videos like photos.
Marketplace like facebook.

yes I think ashtag is a good request
Due to the many requests in the past for additonal features and components we have decided to develope a premium version. Features like Hashtags, Videos, Polls, Events, Stories, Link Preview, etc included in it.
