So I’m not versed on making components, tried and failed. Not trying to mess with core files. I’m trying to add two links to my left menu when it opens up. A link to my discord chatroom and a link to my forums. Both off site. I want it to look like it belongs in the menu. What’s my best course of action.

Well you should start with HelloWorld component it have all you need. You can download it from community.
Due to the many requests in the past for additonal features and components we have decided to develope a premium version. Features like Hashtags, Videos, Polls, Events, Stories, Link Preview, etc included in it.
