Mcrypt is depreciated , can't install

Scott Ames Posted in General Discussion 5 years ago

My ISP says mcrypt is depreciated, but I can't install without it. They won't install mcrypt either. I asked.

Is there a version that I can use that doesn't need mcrypt?

Thanks for providing that information Scott.

It is correct that older OSSN versions used mcrypt. However, OSSN 5.2 no longer needs mcrypt. Apparently Softacolous has failed to remove this outdated check from their installer. This leaves you with two options:

a) tell the hosting company about the problem

b) download Ossn 5.2 from https://www.opensource-socialnetwork.org/download_ossn/latest/build.zip and install it yourself

Here is the link but I'm not sure you can get to it.

They install with Softlicious.

Maybe you can see it here.
