Hi all,
Ubuntu 18.04 on Vultr LAMP. Simply cannot get past this step. I have definitely created the database, with password, added URL to default.conf, chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html, even tried following this guide

Except there is no php.ini file to be found as per tutorial. I am completely stuck. I'd appreciate any help I could get!

I'm not sure, a friend created a new database that worked. Must have been some permission issue. In any case I dumped the manual install and used the CLI auto-setup which worked great.

The error is related to your database better consult some database community, otherwise use ubuntu 18.04 and try https://www.opensource-socialnetwork.org/wiki/view/3994/how-to-install-ossn-on-ubuntu-1804-x64-using-command-line
