Is there a way for members to get proper URLs for their groups and pages?
Something like Facebook does, www.facebook.com/mypage, www.facebook.com/helloworld etc.
I think they are called 'pretty' urls?
Right now, it's /group/23/edit which looks pretty bad.
Also, I see there is no way to delete posts once made. I found someone else asking about this and wanted to delete this.
I tried asking (in a new reply) if a mod could delete this as I've now posted in this;
https://www.opensource-socialnetwork.org/discussion/view/2940/url-alias-for-groups-to-display-url-with-group-name-instead-of-numbers-such-as-group1-group2
However, the reply was refused.
Well many people wants those urls for
Groups,
Pages
Profiles
Videos
Blogs
Events
.etc
We can not able to integrate all of them. The main problem is checking all the page handlers. What if someone creates a profile example games
website.com/games
and in future you enable a game component with same page handler. There would be a really issue to handle the those actual pages.
So MANY things that cannot be done with this software, it's crazy frustrating.
what about Canonical URLs?
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/webmasters/getting-started/versioned-link/
This would be good and frustrating that it can't be done here.
I am afraid this is not possible what other thing can be done is adding group title in url it can be done
group/idgoeshere/test-group-title
Due to the many requests in the past for additonal features and components we have decided to develope a premium version. Features like Hashtags, Videos, Polls, Events, Stories, Link Preview, etc included in it.
