Groups/Pages/Events have very limited functionality and use

Mick Dawlings Posted in Technical Support 11 months ago

We want to have groups, pages, and events being the highlight of one of our sites but both have very limited functionality.
Is there a component that is maintained that could add some extra features to groups? If not, these are critical things that are missing.

To make Groups/Pages, and Events more usable, there are at least these things missing;

-Group/Page owner should be able to allow moderators

-Groups/Pages should have specific individual rules set by owner/moderators. Many times, a busy group owner might want help moderating so would need to have the ability to allow someone else to help.

-Groups/Pages/Events should be searchable.
Searching for key words would have better use than a simple list if many groups.

-Wondering why Groups/Pages have a Videos link but no Images also?

i am sorry Mick i can not explain in other way. That is how you search group.

Search a keyword and select group from search type it will only show groups with such a title. If that is not the case on your site then something is wrong.

This is my last answer to this thread can't explain further.

The video shows exactly what I see, no way to search groups.
You only see them when you click on Groups in the side menu or in the list of Result Type.

First i showed all groups
Then I went to newsfeed page and search a keyword
Then I selected the groups from menu

Please see above video

I must be missing something.
On the sidebar, I see Groups.
Clicking on that shows Add group and Groups.
Clicking on Groups shows Result Type, people, groups, pages, events.
There is no search option other than on the top menu.
Clicking on Groups and searching, nothing is found.
When using the top menu, no matter what I enter, nothing is found.

Yes you can search specific group by selecting the group menu from sidebar. I have two groups and searched for Test and it showed well

All groups

Hi,

The component does add moderators so thanks for that.

The search option isn't specifically for groups or pages or events. It seems to be site wide.
If a site has many groups, people would want to search those groups specifically.

I have two test groups for example and I search for one of the words in the group name and nothing comes up.
Not even if I enter the full name of the group, nothing comes up.
