In order for the great application to work for me, I had to change a few things in actions, locale, system - forms, themes, vendors - added js and css files.
If there's an upgrade will you overwrite anything in the directories listed?

I understand. How can I do what you recommended -
Create a custom component and alter behavior through the Ossn component API.
I don't understand what you're saying to do above. Can you help?

yes , it will you should not modify the core file
