An MD5 is always 128 bits long. That means that there are 2^128 possible MD5 hashes, and with salt its more secure. Well what i believe is no one will hack your database unless it contain highly classified data Those websites that has been hacked are mostly government websites.

Yes I agree that MD5 is easy to crack but yet OSSN has a system in place called a salt I do not know if it randomly puts different code in front, middle or at the end of the created password the user makes...Basically the password is more than what the USER makes it and the MD5 encrypts...

I hope I made since on this it is easier said then typing it out.

i can see where kote bregvanze is coming from, MD5 has been proven to be fundamentally flawed. Developers and users have been advised to migrate to something else before serious attacks become prevelant.

but i agree with Zet Man leave alone unless you know what you are doing

1.) Ossn passwords can't be decrypted and there's no need to do so. If a member has lost/forgotten his password he can request a new one via "Reset password".
2.) There's no good reason weakening OSSN's password safety. If you are a programmer you'll know how and where to apply your changes. If not, please leave the core files untouched.
