Is there a method or component which will allow me to block a user or a user's IP or do I need to go the route of the htaccess file? Thanks.

I want to be able to ban/block a user in regard to his/her conduct. I don't like drama on my sites. If I have a user creating drama I want them gone. I want to be able to ban/block a user on an individual basis.
